Civic Concerns are a series of one-day Workshops held once every month. The one day workshop brings together 18-22 youth from diverse background between the age group of 16-25. This workshop basically deals with the state affairs and civil awareness.
The objective of civic concerns is to arouse civil and political interest amongst a-political youth. The urban and semi urban youths between the age of 16-25 studying in private colleges are least interested in the ongoing political scene and they tend to say " Politics is not my business and so I hate it…." With this one-day workshop, it is hoped that by the end, they realize that politics is vitally important in everyday life. So there is no way escape. It is also an effort to assess youth concerns on civil life and state and share views and ideas as to what further initiatives can be taken in the days to come. Finding like-minded people and uniting to face the challenge has remained a salient feature of this workshop.
The workshop on Civic Concerns is held every month on the last Saturday of the English calendar. The workshops are structured in four sessions, dividing it into working group session, guest speaker session, synthesis and wrap up session with breaks at regular intervals aiming to provide time for informal socialization between participants.
So, "Lets discuss about it - hating it is not the answer."
