28 May 2010, Dang

A Monthly Political Discussion was held in Ghorahi on 28th May 2010. The discussion was focused on the possible political and constitutional deadlock that could have occurred after Jestha 14. The session had a free discussion on the topic "What after 14th Jestha?" among the 36 participants and was facilitated by Giriraj Adhikari, YI SL Coordinator Dang.

Participants were from various backgrounds. In the beginning of the session, Mr Adhikari called for the contributions from all the participants. The discussion, in the beginning, had a little nervous environment due to the failure of the major political parties to reach to a contentious for drafting a democratic constitution for the nation. The participants seemed to be interested in radio news about whether any agreement comes among the parties to extend the tenure of the constituent assembly. But as the participants moved into the discussion showing how youths' role of interference has been an inevitable for the resolution of the present deadlock, everyone seemed to be going with the topic.

Opening the discussion, one of the participants, Suresh Subedi gave some instances of possible political anarchy after May 28th, if the resolution does not come before the deadline. Similarly, Agrima Thapa, the student of Padmodaya H.S. School added the similar view to Mr Subedi's.

However, Pratibha K.C., student of Siddha Ratna Nath H.S. School, spotlighted on how a different sort of autocratic practice may be burdened to the people in the name of constitutional deadlock after the date. So she suggested for the interfering role of youths regarding the matter before being too late.

In the discussion, Heliz Adhikari, Netra Sagar Chaudhari, Nabin Kishor Ratna, Suresh Yogi, Buddhishila Basnet and Yami Oli shared their views in the discussion.
