Youth Discussion Series
 Among
various endeavors initiated by Youth Initiative for the
overall development of young people, “Youth discussion
Series” is one of them. Youth Initiative organizes
a discussion every Friday from 3 pm to 5 pm at Martin Chautari
premises. The discussion is mainly focused on the contemporary
issues that directly or indirectly affects or influences
the youths of Nepal. The issues discussed are categorized
as political, environmental, thesis based and contemporary.
On the first Friday of every English month the discussion
is held on political issues. Similarly, other issues are
discussed on the following weeks.
This
chain, which comprises the every Friday discussions, is collectively
known as the "Youth Discussion Series" and it is
one of the oldest and continual activities of Youth Initiative.
The discussion is divided into two parts. In the first part
the "Pundit" (speaker) delivers his experiences
and knowledge related to the topic for about 20 minutes. The
second part opens the floor for discussion, question answers,
clarification, sharing etc. The Participation is free and
open to all.
Objective:
Youth discussion series aims at fostering
the habit of discussion amongst youth. It aims to build a
pool of future leaders and thinkers needed to transform the
society, providing the platform for intellectual development
and leadership to the present generation youth. Disseminating
information on the contemporary issues through sharing and
debate is the primary concern as well as the intervention
of this series.
